For 13 years, the Meridian Winter Blast has drawn family and friends out of winter hibernation to enjoy winter activities, live entertainment and delicious food from local restaurants in the heart of downtown. Featuring free ice-skating, a winter slide, a zip line, an ice bar, a food truck rally and more than 50 local musicians, this year’s Winter Blast drew over 90,000 people. That’s not the only record breaker – the charity collection set a new record as well, collecting 19,500 pounds of food to be distributed to those in need. Marketing Associates was excited to have been a part of this year’s popular event. The MA-sponsored Family Tent catered to Winter Blast’s younger visitors, featuring the Detroit Interactive Sports Zone and Michigan Science Center. Kids had the opportunity to participate in fun games, photo ops and raffles with the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Pistons. A great time was had by all, and we look forward to seeing the event continue to grow and attract visitors to Detroit.
